“Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something“

Marco came from Venezuela against all odds to perform an internship with the hopes of launching a career in the music field. Marco's passion for business and music landed him an internship opportunity with working in the tourism sector helping to coordinate flamenco shows. Marco proved himself to be committed and thorough… so much so, that he was subsequently offered an assistant manager position with the same company.

Where did you travel?

I was on a tight budget during my time in Seville, so I utilized the travel stipend that GlobalEd gave me to participate in local activities, attend shows and conventions to help me network in my sector.

What were your favorite activities?

I love the night life Seville has to offer. I often times work as a DJ, in various clubs and enjoy meeting new people and showcasing my love for music.

How did your experience abroad affect your marketability?

My situation is a little different than most GlobalEd Alumni, because I still live in Spain. So, for me, the experience "abroad" continues. But I do constantly utilize my knowledge of language, personality and leadership, learned through GlobalEd's leadership training sessions, to find the best outcome.
