GlobalEd takes the concept of international internships to a new level by presenting internship options that allow you to create the perfect balance between your studies, your career development and your social life while abroad. YOU decide on whether you want a full immersion experience, a part time work experience or the opportunity to work in teams. The type of internship you choose will depend largely on the time commitment you wish to dedicate, your language level (if applicable), your skills sets and the available internship opportunities. Our internships also have an academic focus allowing you the opportunity to satisfy internship requirements at your home school while gaining valuable work-related experience abroad and building your resume. GlobalEd classifies its internships into two categories: Individual Placement and Team-based.
Individual placements are internships in which you assume a position within a local company and perform anywhere from 10 to 20 hours of onsite work per week for a total of 120 or 240 hours respectively. The position may have daily responsibilities or be project focused, depending on the time commitment and job description. These positions normally require a minimum intermediate (or conversational) level of the local language. Team-based placements are project focused internships and performed in teams with between two and four students. Most of the work is performed offsite in teams with periodic meetings with the business tutor. They typically require 10 hours of work per week totalling 120 hours. These positions can take the full spectrum of language level depending on the project requirements, the language level of the tutor and the combined language level of the team. |
